The Shop Front is an eCommerce platform that enables you to engage with your customers via video, audio and chat. Unlike a typical ecommerce store, when a customer arrives at your shopfront domain (https://store.theshopfront.tech/[YOUR-URL]) they are immediately connected to your admin dashboard assistant via a p2p (peer to peer) connection.
A p2p connection is the online equivalent of a telephone call or a conversation, as it means that your browser and the browser of your customer are connected. This is the basis of The Shop Front and allows us to develop all sorts of features for your online store, the principal ones being:
We have many more powerful features on the roadmap, but the fundamental building block of your Shop Front experience is this connection between customer and brand, that allows you to create a fully engaged and interactive online experience.
To get started with The Shop Front first you need to create an account, or use one of our integrated solutions such as shopify.
After registering for your free account (no credit card or contracts required), you should create 3 parts of your account. These are:
To create your products you can use an integrated solution such as shopify, which will handle the automatic import and synchronization of your product information. If you are on a non-integrated account, you can use the interface under the ‘products’ section of the menu.
Here you can add and copy products, uploading their media and edit their SKUs and descriptions.
To edit your shop information you can use the interface under the ‘Store settings’ area of the admin dashboard. This will allow you to upload logo and banner assets, as well as configure the information about your store that will be published to the static website.
To edit your online assistant you can use the interface under the ‘Account settings’ area of the admin dashboard. This will allow you to edit your online avatar.
Once you have prepared your shop front, make sure that you select ‘Accept new connections’ in the assistant tab. You should see a tick in the top right corner of the dashboard, this means that you will automatically connect with every visitor to your Shop Front.
If you are not online in the dashboard, you will automatically be marked as offline, and visitors will be able to use and navigate the store, however they will be greeted with an automated ‘unavailable message’ instead of being connected.
All shop functionality and features will work regardless of whether you are connected or not.
There are different component parts of The Shop Front that are the building blocks of different parts of the experience.
https://dashboard.theshopfront.tech - This is the admin area where the business owner can control the products, shop information, reporting and engage with customers.
https://store.theshopfront.tech/store/[YOUR-STORE] - This is the online meeting area for The Shop Front. Every visitor to this address will immediately begin the negotiation process to configure a p2p connection with the business.
https://theshopfront.tech/store/[YOUR-STORE] - This is the permanently online link to your static store. If you are online it will be a gateway to your dynamic store. If you are not online then it serves as a fully functional full featured online store without p2p technology.

There are two simple ways to use the platform.
You can add The Shop Front sales channel to your shopify account, allowing you seamless integration with your shopify inventory and fufillment options. There is no commission on sale!
If you don't have Shopify, you can setup a free account and use our Stripe integration to sell through the platform. We will take a small commission on each sale. Nothing else to pay!
